I’m in a mood for purging. If you see something here you like, and are pretty sure you want to buy it, let me know before I get it listed at Amazon.=)
Prices are NOT deep discounts. I hate going to the post office and mailing boxes. Prices are my best effort at coming up with fair market value because otherwise, they are just going to Goodwill since it’s not worth it to me to go to the PO for less than FMV. But I’m coming up with these prices while in the midst of chaos and several days of introvert battery draining, in the midst of towers of boxes, four grandbabies, the Little Boys, a smoking woodstove, and I don’t even want to think about how many questions Blynken can ask in two minutes.
If I don’t tell you it’s in good condition, consider it acceptable. Most of these are ex libra- I’ll try to remember to say so if it isn’t (that means former library books). I generally call almost all books acceptable unless they are like new because that way, nobody is disappointed.
$65.00, postage included: The Story of the Middle Ages Box Set : The Making of the Middle Ages ; The Birth of the Middle Ages ; The Crucible of the Middle Ages ; The Waning of the Middle Ages ; The High Middle Ages Hardcover – 1998
by Folio Society Editors et al (Author), Illustrated (Illustrator)
Starts at 49.95 at Amazon. That’s for one missing one of the five volumes. A sixty dollar one is missing the slip cover, and two in the middle have stained pages or creases. This one has never been read. The slip covered box shows a lot of wear on the back edges and the corner, but the books are very good condition hardbacks that still have the new book smell. NOT library books

Romans – Four Book Set – Volumes I, II, III, IV (Man’s Ruin, God’s Wrath – God’s Remedy, God’s River – God’s Grace
by Donald Grey Barnhouse
Reader Review: Barnhouse is able to take some of the most difficult and rich bibical doctrines and make them not just understandable but enjoyable. Verse by verse he dissects and reveals the truths revealed in Paul’s Epistle to the Romans. For the new believer hungry to understand the love and grace of his God to the mature Christian longing to learn more about the God he loves, this four volume set is a must read.

$8.00 ppd, Tales From A Finnish Tupa
Reader Review; This is the ultimate for any family to own if you have Finnish blood in you. It gives a lot of insight into a very obscured culture and way of life. The stories are very imaginative. I have an original book in my bookcase, please please, buy a hardcover version. They last a very long time, the paper is heavy and the illustrations and stories are so alien to most of living in the US.
$10 ppd, $8 if combined with anothe ppd book.
East O’ the Sun and West O’ the Moon
(link is to a free Kindle Version).
Mine is a hardback with much wear, published by Row Peterson and Company in 1946
Reader Review; East o’the Sun, West o’the Moon is probably my most favorite fairy-tale book ever. It includes twenty-two stories, including both more traditional fairy tales (‘The Princess on the Glass Hill’ and ‘East o’the Sun and West o’the Moon’) and some that are more along the line of folk-tales, (‘Why the Bear is Stumpy-Tailed’ and ‘Why the Sea is Salt’). The stories are all well-told and accessible for people of all ages.
My only complaints are that it lacks an interactive table of contents (although it’s not long enough to matter very much), and that it seems to lack some of the stories I remember from my childhood version (which really isn’t likely to bother many people.)
You might also be able to find that one of the cheap versions has illustrations, which are usually worth a dollar or two.
If what you’re looking for is a book of simple and lovable fairy tales, East o’ the Sun is definitely one that I would recommend.”
$25.00 ppd. My copy is a later printing.
