A Mouse of Honor

“Reepicheep is so much the opposite of Eustace that he too can be annoying at times. What I mean to say is that he puts me to shame, which I always find annoying….”

The many pieces of me . . . And you.

Bits and pieces.
Bits and pieces.

People. People important to you, people unimportant to you cross your life, touch it with love and carelessness and move on. There are people who leave you and you breathe a sigh of relief and wonder why you ever came into contact with them. There are people who leave you and you breathe a sigh of remorse and wonder why they had to go away and leave such a gaping hole. Children leave parents; friends leave friends. Acquaintances move on. People change homes. People grow apart. Enemies hate and move on. Friends love and move on. You think on the many who have moved into your hazy memory. You look on those present and wonder.
I believe in God’s master plan in lives. He moves people in and out of each other’s lives, and each leaves his mark on the other. You find you are made up of bits and pieces of all who ever touched your life, and you are more because of it, and you would be less if they had not touched.
Pray God that you accept the bits and pieces in humility and wonder, and never question,
and never regret.

Bits and pieces
Bits and pieces.

Lois A. Cheney, (God is no Fool, 1969)

I must constantly be aware of the pieces as I gain them. Some must be exploited while others must be suppressed. All the bits and pieces I have gained throughout my life are not always good and none of them are always good for every situation. The more bits and pieces I get from my Lord (through studying his word) the easier it is for me to decide which pieces to use when.

The Headmaster has found the time.

Leadership.
Where would we be without it? A father holds his child’s hand and leads the little one away from danger. A CEO makes decisions that effect hundreds, if not thousands, with his decision. Our Lord led us by example. He came and lived so that we may have an example to follow (see John Ch.13).
Leadership and Management our two different things. One cannot manage his men to war, he must lead them. Leaders lead people, managers manage things. This does not imply that if one is managing he or she cannot lead or visa versa. I must constantly manage things at work. Time, ordering, payroll, adverting, and constantly measuring one metric with the next. However, while doing these things I must lead those that are accomplishing the tasks that must be done. Standing by their side I must help them with some job that they feel is overwhelming. Synergy allows us to get it done quicker. They also see that I want to help them, that I am competent in the matter, and that I care for them.

My time is getting short.
One more post and I am done for the evening.

A walk in the woods

This is JennyAnyDots.

Well, you have probably guessed what I did this afternoon, haven’t you? Yes! I went on an enrapturing walk. I saw White trout lilies, Spring Beauty, Toadshade Trillium, and lots of different Violets, among which there were: Downy Yellow, Common Blue, and Confederate.

At an old farm house I found a Japonica tree and a Red bud tree.

I also scared two deer and quite a few birds while I was out walking.
