Molasses Sauce for Pancakes or Waffles

This is from a vintage woman’s magazine, July 1942.  I think it’s to replace pancake syrup during rationing:

1/2 cup undiluted evaporated milk

1/4 cup margarine (I’d use butter)

1/2 cup molasses

Warm milk and margarine in saucepan until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in molasses gradually.

Serve over pancakes or waffles immediately.
