Handkerchief Doll

In my deep cleaning out of closets, drawers, filing cabinets, and nooks and crannies, I found this, which I copied probably 30 years ago:

I no longer know the book it came from, but I have made these handkerchief dolls to entertain small tots for years. I have made them (carefully) from disposable napkins or paper towels at restaurants and picnics. You can draw faces on those or add designs to the dresses if you have a pen in your purse. They tear easily, but the dolls entertain the smallest people and learning how to fold them and drawing on faces amuses middle sized people and their parents as well. It is a very handy skill to have.
