Yes. Obama separated families.

From 2012:

“A new report authored by Seth Freed Wessler, an investigative reporter and researcher at and the Applied Research Center, points out in the first six months of 2011 the federal government deported more than 46,000 parents of children who are U.S. citizens.

The report, called “Shattered Families,”estimates as many as 5,100 children are now living in foster care in the U.S. as a result of parents being detained or deported.”

Trump already stopped. The thousands more kids Obama separated from their families years ago… where are they now? Why doesn’t media care?

In many of the articles I’ve read on both sides of the border (Canada/US), there has been ra reference back to the fear that the relatives people are running to in the US are reluctant to come forward for the risk of deportation. Under the previous administration, many articles deplored the separation of families from their US born children. And has that policy really stoppped? The flurry of criticism around Mr. Trump’s policy and susequent change is present because it is current. It doesn’t mean the media generally approved of Mr. Obama’s policy of separating families inside either, it is just that this present policy is current. And the old policy of deporting established undocumented newcomer parents from their US born children may still be going on – I don’t know. That would be wrong as well to break up those families. I believe the way countries and individuals choose to treat refugees coming to them will be a defining judgement of our characters and righteousness. It seems to me that decision is referred to in Matthew 25. I’m sure there is a way to maintain sovereignity over a country’s borders, help those who are in trouble and quell the unrest in other countries if those who make policy would only ask God how to do it. He knows the answers to these perplexing questions if only those in the position to make policies would ask and then be humble enough to follow through. Right now, it is sadness all around for many families affected by these policies.

Right now Trump ended the policy and is running DNA tests to unite kids with actual relatives, not human traffickers as Obama did. Right now we still don’t know what happened to many of the kids Obama put in foster care after deporting their parents.

Media and many others didn’t care about family separations for any reason at all other than politics.
