Vintage Valentines to Make

The image with a square on the top right for a stamp is obviously meant for an envelope.  You can paste it to an envelope or just use it for the front of a postcard style valentine.  Cut out the images, colour or paint as desired.  Paste the Happy Valentine’s Day message to the back of the image with space for a stamp.  Make your own Valentine’s Day stamp if you are not mailing these.

The hearts with keys are just cute.  Even better, cut out large paper hearts of red, pink, and white.  Trace and then cut out the keys onto gold paper or cardboard that you will paint gold after cutting out.  Manila folders, cereal boxes, cracker boxes, the cardboard that sometimes come in packages of hosiery or other clothing items all would work to make a nice sturdy key.

Here’s a cute motto to put on or with cards:

I don’t want you for a beau

Or a sweetheart, oh, no, no!

But ‘I’m glad you’re a friend of mine’

Is the message of this valentine.

You could change it to ‘would you be a friend of mine’ if it’s for somebody you don’t know well.
