The FYG Needs Prayers

The beautiful, talented, athletic and very very BUSY FYG went ice skating and fell and broke two bones in her leg in multiple places this afternoon. She is on her way with the HM and DHM to a hospital about an hour north, for surgery asap. Please keep her in your prayers, as well as the whole transport situation- It is being complicated by some very severe weather in the area.

Updates will be posted periodically. Thank-you SO MUCH for your prayers.

Update from the DHM:  She only has two breaks, but they are pretty spectacular.  The reasons for the asap surgery resolved themselves, which was fortunate since the surgeon up north wouldn’t see because of hospital red tape.

We’re still waiting to see a surgeon.  Her pain levels were off the charts and it was difficult to get her warmed up, as she spent an hour on her back on the ice (broken leg bare from toe to knee) because they couldn’t get her off the ice safely- paramedics, a police officer, firemen- all were slipping an sliding around on the ice, some fell down themselves.

She’s warm, her pain levels are manageable (she has a morphine pump), and we’re waiting to see a surgeon. We have no idea what or when surgery will be, as they just sent her breakfast, and a nurse says she doesn’t think there will be surgery today.

Update again: Surgery tentatively scheduled for Tuesday.

Praying that all goes really well with the transport and surgery. Pray that recovery goes well too, and for peace for her mama, papa and family, these can be stressful times.

[...] Today I’d worked in the kitchen past my time limit and I was sitting in my nice, cold room, trying to cool off and chill out- this room is so cold that this time of year, I prefer to sit with a shawl around my shoulders, but I was too hot for that.  I was just cooling down when my son, out of the blue, told me he wants to go ice-skating with friends in one of the next two weekends, and also, btw, he can do flips on his  ice skates (we are nearing the one year anniversary of this)*.
