Yeah, Kids In Large Families All Hate It

FYG learning to walk

Baby 6 learning to walk just before she was 9 months old.  Big sisters are all eager to encourage her.  Four of the big girls are shown here, though you can’t see our second girl, The Equuschick, at all, unless you notice that the there’s an extra arm and leg that don’t seem to belong to anybody.=)

Incidentally, when daughter 5 was learning to walk (she’s the blondy in turquoise at the front of this line), we were living in a military hotel (billeting, for those who know) where we had access to cable television and thus, commercials. So The Equuschick was clamouring for something called a “Baby Wanna Walk,” which was a doll that walked stiffly across the floor.  We couldn’t afford one and told her that’s not where our money needed to go.  She sulked.  She quit sulking the night Pi p took her first steps and toddled across the room to her big sister.  The EC gathered her into a hug and lovingly said, “Awwww, there’s my Baby Wanna Walk!”

I think we see Equuschick’s dark blue skirt as well?

Or maybe its the turquoise pants and the foot we see

We have seven children ages 11.5 years down to 11 months. The youngest is learning to walk right now and can take a few steps at a time. Everyone gathers around eagerly to encourage him to walk. Even the 2.5 year old throws her arms wide for him. :-) And every one of them old enough to understand is eagerly awaiting the announcement of another pregnancy, including the 11.5 year old boy who would be thought to be very against it by most people.
