Thrifty Tuesday… The Better Late Than Never Edition

It’s been one of those weeks… a husband home sick from work (so grateful that he now qualifies for FMLA time off!), children getting over being sick but not on their normal sleep schedules yet… you know how it goes.

It’s also snowing. Quite a bit. This far into winter, the snow does little to cheer my spirits. It just looks cold, dreary, and wet. I dream of spring and flowers ~ which is why these lovely things are this week’s Thrifty Tuesday displays. 🙂

2013-03-05 12.50.55These are my family room curtains; aren’t they lovely? I spent a long time trying to find curtains for this window; it’s a big one, and I wanted something to go with the blue theme I already have going on in there (I’ll try to share more pictures of this room in the next few days). I actually got to the point where I was almost ready to buy some new from…. and then I went to Goodwill on half-price day and found these. $3/each. I actually got four of them; the other two aren’t visible in this picture, because we triple layered the curtains in this window. It’s got a tendency to frost over (heavily) on the inside in the winter. Did I mention my opinion of snow already?

Anyway… considering the curtains I was looking at were $15-$20 a panel, I was more than happy to pay the $3. 🙂
