Cos a Boy’s Best Friend is His Mother

The girls and I have been talking about changing the Boy’s style a bit. Right now it’s kind of hayseed.

I’ve been spending some time looking up hairstyles I think would work for him, and came across this one- which is cool because this actually does kind of look a little like my son- similar coloring, dark eyes, the face is the same shape- oblong, narrow at the jaw, big ears- and nearly duplicate smirks. I drew the glasses on because the Boy wears specs roughly this shape.

I like it:

What I like best about this, though, is my son’s reaction. I was showing the pictures I’d saved to a son-in-law and somebody else came through to ask what was going on.

“Oh,” sighed the much put upon Boy, rolling his eyes, “Mom’s just being a weirdo trouble-maker again.”

He mock glared at me and emphasized,  “More than usual, I mean.”

Your son’s reaction sounds a lot like mine’s when I tried to convince him to dye his hair blue. Well, it was the color of his baseball team. Had nothing to do with the fact that I secretly wish I’d had some fun with hair color before I became a Dignified Woman, nope.

Oh, Tracy- this is so funny! Because there was also some pinterest searching for some really wild hair dye jobs for my sixth daughter, although she’s the one agitating for rainbow colored hair and I am pleading for a restrained deep henna.;-D
