Bathroom Redo

Almost Before, because I took this picture after Pip had gotten rid of the denim curtain which was mildewing and streaking, and replaced it with this one:

The walls and wallpaper had never really worked- the wallpaper border here was really an afterthought. We intended to use a different border that worked with the beige paint, but then did not have enough of that one so we improvised with what was on hand. It did not really work.  So Pip bought this shower curtain, and then she bought some eye-popping paint to match:

blue painted walls

Then they took out all the wall decorations I had in the bathroom and replaced them with these:

We’re keeping our eyes open for more small frames to paint to put inside the larger frames.   I used to have a bunch- I bought them at thrift shops for the Equuschick’s wedding reception- we put various quotes inside them about love and marriage and scattered them around the tables.  But afterward, I think we gave them all away, replacing the quotes with pictures from the wedding.

Next…. they took this old piece of furniture:

Original cabinet

And did this:

painted cabinet in progress

And this:

clawfoot legs

But that’s not all.  They also did this:

thrifted wooden frames

Painted picture frames

And then they really went to town with this:

painting the cabinet

And at last, they had this:

painted cabinet

And now they are done.

Next, Pip’s room, and then  the downstairs bathrooms…

That is just as cute as it can be. My daughter has the bedspread to match that shower curtain in her room. I’m going to show her this. :-)

It looks so different! I liked the semi-nautical theme that you had in there, but I really like the new bright colors too!
