Finding Free Kindle Books

There are several different things I do to find free books for Kindle. The easiest and widest net is to click on Kindle e-books and then sort them from price low to high (look for that tool over to the right of the page). However, be forewarned, you will wade through a lot of free pornographic titles that way, many with vile images on the covers, so if you choose that route, don’t have the kids or husband nearby. I am not a visual person and I focus on text rather than images, and I still find it disturbing at times.

bookbubs and freebooksy are both websites that mention a few free books each day.

You can also choose from one of the selections over in the left- fiction, non-fiction, religious, how-to, etc, and again, sort by price from low to high.

Thrifty Homemaker Finds is another source- you should bookmark her or friend her on FB. I don’t use her for the free Kindle books I pass on, though. After I’ve done all of the above, I browse through her listings to see if I’ve missed anything, and if I see something good, I just ‘share’ it, passing on the link. If she’s done the work, I think she should get the credit.

Lastly, it helps to know your authors and titles, which is something I think I do bring to the table when it comes to the older books, though there are undoubtedly others still more knowledgeable than I. Not many of them that spend time every morning wading through the free Kindle books, though.;0D

I like just downloading from Project Gutenberg – they work on my Kindle, or on my wife’s Android using Aldiko.

Also perhaps not your cup of tea, but Baen books has many science fiction/fantasy novels for free on their website, as part of the “Baen free library”. None of the titles are Christian, and some are very much the opposite, but some are entertaining.

I also appreciate your postings of free kindle books. I love books too, but don’t quite have your depth of familiarity with authors and I appreciate your suggestions. There have been some new discoveries for me in your suggestions and I love that.

    On an aside:
I also have been using “Honey for a Child’s Heart” for quite some time now (as suggested by you) and it has been a immense help to me. I cannot say enough how grateful I am for the thoughtful, intelligent, and often humorous perspective of your writings, which spring from and reflect your trustworthy foundation. The Joy we have just wells up, doesn’t it? :)

    Thank you.
