Blender Broccoli Soup- Home-made Convenience Food

Thawed ten ounce package of frozen chopped broccoli
3 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon each basil, salt, pepper (fresh basil would taste better)
1 1/2 cups of milk
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup grated cheese- swiss, cheddar, gouda, gruyere, mmmm

Put the broccoli, flour, seasonings, and 1 cup of milk in the blender and blend well.  Pour into a saucepan with remaining milk, researving the blender for further use.

Cook this  over medium high heat, stirring well and often, until near boiling

Add 1/2 cup of water to blender, give it a buzz for a few seconds to help clean it out, remove from base, shake (with lid on ) a few times, then add to the soup, turning on low and simmer gently a few minutes longer. (at this point if you like you can put it in the crockpot on low to really meld the flavors- cook about four or five hours)

Remove from heat, stir in cheese.  This only makes about 3 servings.  You can double, triple, quadruple, or increase by even greater amounts, but you should only blend one batch at a time.
